Description:
Often considered to have the best flavor of the Southern highbush. Produces white, bell-shaped flowers in spring followed by an abundant crop of large, dark blue fruit. Matures very early from summer through fall. Suggesting chilling requirement of 400 to 500 hours for good fruit set. Foliage either remains evergreen in mild winters or turns brilliant red before falling in cold climates. Produces a rounded spreading shrub suited to mixed borders or fruit garden. Semi-deciduous shrub. Moderate growth to 5 feet tall, 6 feet wide.
